Boris Obnosov, the head of the KTRV (Tactical Missiles Corporation) told RIA Novosti that the next generation air-launched missiles will be ready for the Pak-Fa stealth fighter within 2 years. “Development of the KH-35UE (aka the AS-20 Kayak), the KH-38ME, the KH-58UShKE (aka the AS-11 Kilter), and the RVV-MD (upgraded version of the AA-11) missiles are currently undergoing testing and will be ready for service in 2012-2013,” stated Obnosov. The missiles will be ready in time for the offical acceptance of the Pak-Fa into service (2014) and will also be carried by other new Russian jets, such as the Su-34 (on which some of the missiles are being tested), the Su-35S, and the Mig-29K/KUB. The KH-35UE anti-ship missile has a range of about 260 km, the KH-31PD anti-radiation missile has a range of 250 km, the KH-58UShKE missile has a range of 245 km, and the RVV-MD short-range air-to-air missile has a range of up to 40 km.
